Hi!

I Love Human-centered Stories.

Through a slow journalism approach, my visual work focuses on personal stories that transcend geographical, socio-economic, and cultural differences. I’ve lived and worked in five countries in the past decade. That’s been an invaluable gift that has helped me broaden my perspective and cultural competence. I hope to tell stories that compel intrinsic emotion while challenging our perspectives about the world and one another. Whether it’s a German mother adapting to life in North Carolina while raising two children with down syndrome or a South African leaving the sugar cane industry to reconnect with nature, I aim to connect people that may be continents apart geographically,  culturally, or otherwise.

I have been published in national publications like National Geographic, The Atlantic, and Scalawag Magazine. I spent eight years working at the grassroots level with non-profits with clients like the Alaska Wildlife Alliance, Thanda Zulu, and the U.S. Department of State. In 2021 I received my M.A. in Media and Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I was also an Adjunct Professor teaching Introduction to digital storytelling.

Today, I’m working with Lowe’s Home Improvement as a Creative Video Manager to tell stories about how we live. My unique blend of business experience and technical skills with a global perspective helps me bridge the gap between what tells a story, connects to an audience, and creates empathy.

In my free time, I rock climb, hike, and love to travel, but doing all of that with good people (and dogs) makes it all worth it. I feel so lucky to be let into someone’s life and to share their stories with you in whatever medium that may take.

Contact me! I love discussing creative projects, equity and inclusion, storytelling ethics, and travel.
